Who wrecked this retaining wall in Sayreville?

SAYREVILLE – Police called it a “large-scale act of vandalism” and asked for help locating those responsible for damage to a retaining wall in the county.

Early on Jan. 6, sometime between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., heavy machinery was used to extensively damage a new retaining wall bordering the intersection of South Minisink Avenue and Cheesequake Road, according to the state police Facebook page.

Photos of the damage at the Ashland development along Cheesequake Road were also shared by police who have tracked down who did it.

On Jan. 6, the county reported the damage on the community’s official Facebook page in the form of what Sayreville officials called “a premeditated act.”
