BURLINGTON, MA—Over 300 participants took part in various competitions IAGB‘s Republic Day celebrations last week at Burlington High School in Burlington. See the list of winners below.

The IAGB community celebrated the annual Republic Day event in high spirits. The event took place on January 28, 2023. It was a full day activity full of competitions, cultural programs, shopping and of course food. Thousands of community members attended and enjoyed this event.

The highlight of the cultural program on stage this year was the “Fashion Show”, which was put together by over 30 amateur and professional community members. It featured traditional clothing from different regions of India and the trendiest Indian clothing. The stylish presentation received warm applause from the audience. And the annual tradition of hosting dance performances representing all corners of India received no less plaudits.

Dance schools and groups from across the New England area put on a variety of performances to showcase the heritage of culture and relationships that we are proud of and have built upon. The audience waited to be danced to rhythmic music by their family members and friends on stage. On the IAGB stage, there was the cutest performance of Jan Gan Man (India Anthem) ever by Shishubharti students.

guest of honor dr Manju Sheth was recognized on stage for her many contributions to the community. In her address to the community, Dr. Sheth to everyone to become familiar with the need for “bone marrow donation” and to participate in fundraising programs.

This year more than 300 participants registered for 12 IAGB competitions. The BHS campus was busy throughout the day as many children rushed to several competitions. The winners were honored on stage during the main cultural program by the IAGB President and other dignitaries.

All attendees could shop in the sales area leading to the auditorium. It added to the festive mood. Both buyers and sellers had a great time with mutually beneficial interactions. The sumptuous food that Paani provided helped everyone keep going for hours.

A team of over 25 volunteers and members of the IAGB Board worked together to make this event a huge success. The IAGB thanked the volunteers, supporters, advertisers, corporate sponsors, media partners and service providers from the bottom of their hearts.

“Offering a free event to our Indian-American community members would not have been possible without their help and support,” IAGB said in a statement.
