St. Bernard upsets Bishop Montgomery behind 34 points from Tyler Rolison

With four brothers and four sisters bringing him onto the pitch for senior night, St Bernard’s Tyler Rolison told coach Tony Bland ahead of his Monday night game against 24-1 Bishop Montgomery, “I’m not going to lose senior night.”
Playing like someone who couldn’t be stopped, Rolison scored 34 points to help St. Bernard upset the Knights 70-61 and move to first place in the Del Rey League.
“I came with the attitude that I’m not going to lose,” Rolison said. “That was important to me. I had to put on a show.”
St. Bernard (20-5, 6-1) has caused uncertainty in the final week of the regular season as speculation mounts over which eight teams will be selected for the Southern Section Open Division playoffs. The Vikings pushed their way into the playoff picture, adding drama to Sunday’s bracket reveal.
The St. Bernard grows up before everyone’s eyes. In the fourth quarter, Bishop Montgomery (24-2, 6-1) appeared to be making a comeback as a group of young St. Bernard players stepped forward. In the end, however, Rolison delivered despite St Bernard falling 8-0 to start the game as Bland played all the seniors.
