Western Oregon Wolves 2023 football recruiting class signings
Western Oregon’s football program welcomed a class of new recruits Wednesday, including several players from the Mid-Valley.
The Wolves’ signings included linebacker Casen Collins from Sprague, offensive lineman Ethan Hedgecock from Dayton and tight end Jackson Walsh from Cascade.
As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, western Oregon had signed 24 recruits.
Wolves signed 15 offensive players, six defensive players and three players who play on both sides of the ball.
Western Oregon has signed a quarterback – Jakeb Vallance, who is 6ft 3, 200 pounds, from Cheney, Washington.
Collins helped the Olympians win 6-5 to reach the second round of the OSAA Class 6A Columbia Cup Playoffs that fall.
“Just an overall great community and a great game day environment,” Collins said. “Wolves are a team that wants to win and work towards it on and off the pitch. I must not forget to mention that they have a great coaching team and make me feel like family.”
Hedgecock helped the Pirates win 9-3 and advanced to the OSAA Class 3A State Semifinals.
Walsh helped the Cougars 4-6 and advanced to the first round of the OSAA Class 4A State Playoffs.
