Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding is back

The annual Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour is back in El Paso for just one night, beginning Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the El Paso County Coliseum. Dive into polar bear territory at the Special Olympics

El Paso Water Parks and Special Olympics Texas invite the community to participate in this year’s Polar Plunge, Saturday at 10 a.m. at Camp Cohen Water Park, 9700 Gateway N Blvd. Admission prices are $60 per adult and $30 per youth. Register at https://givebutter.com/ElPasoPlunge

The Las Cruces Museum offers free science programs for children

The Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science, 411 N. Main St., is offering free programs for children ages 2-5 on Thursdays in February at 10 am. There will also be a Candy Engineering class on February 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. No registration needed. Recommended from 6 years; Adult caregiver attendance is required. Admission to the museum and programs are free.

Subharmonic City Productions is hosting a fundraiser with live music and a screening of the winning film “EP. 00: Pilot”. The group, which won the best picture award in El Paso’s 48 Hour Film Project in August, tries to represent the city at Filmapalooza in Los Angeles. The national competition will take place from March 14th to 18th. Ten films are selected to be screened at the famous Cannes Film Festival. Info: subharmoniccity.com

Artists from Fort Hancock at the International Museum of Art

The International Museum of Art, 1211 Montana Ave., is hosting a solo exhibition by Fort Hancock artist John MacKenzie. The exhibition starts on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm and runs until February 25th. MacKenzie’s portraits of children from the community are shown alongside his other works.

See theatrical production at Las Cruces

No Strings Theater Company presents “Love, Loss and What I Wore” Friday through February 12 at the Black Box Theater, 430 N. Main St. in Las Cruces. The production features ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memories that explore the themes of mothers, prom dresses, bra-buying, hating handbags and why they only wear black.

Performances are on Friday, January 27, February 3, and 10, and Saturday, January 28, February 4, and February 11 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, February 5, and February 12 at 2:30 p.m. Es is also having a show on February 9th at 7pm. Admission is $15, students and seniors over 65 are $12, and all seating on February 9 is $10.
