Cox Acquires Cable Systems of Nevada Assets in Lake Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, February 1, 2023 – Cox Communications is expanding its Lake Las Vegas service offerings with the acquisition of community network assets from Cable Systems of Nevada LLC. The purchase of the assets was completed in December 2022. Current owners of Cable Systems and Cox will work together to notify and broadcast current customers.
In 2021, Cox began providing broadband service to residents on the north shore of the community and will soon be expanded to additional residents in Lake Las Vegas through this acquisition. These efforts are part of a broader, multi-billion dollar infrastructure investment over the next few years to deliver a 10-Gigabit, fiber-based home network that will power the next generation of Internet users.
“We’ve heard for years from Lake Las Vegas residents that they are hoping to expand our presence into the community,” said Janet Uthman, vice president of Cox Las Vegas Market. “Through this acquisition, we are able to use the existing infrastructure to offer our services where they are available. We are also exploring opportunities to expand our fiber optic network to reach additional residential areas and businesses in the Lake Las Vegas community.”
In January, Cox began the engineering, construction design and necessary permitting for this fiber-optic-based network and worked with Henderson and Clark County authorities to obtain the necessary permits.
