West New York man faces upgraded child sex crime charges in NJ
◾️ A man from NJ has been arrested for the first time in connection with child sex abuse materials on Discord
◾️ Joseph Suarez was found in his home with a huge stash of child porn files
◾️ Prosecutors have filed further charges of crimes against a young child
A 31-year-old Hudson County man previously found with a vast amount of child sex abuse material has been charged with additional charges relating to sex crimes against a 4-year-old girl.
Joseph Suarez of West New York has now been charged with aggravated sexual assault and conspiracy to commit aggravated sexual assault, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Monday.
He has been held in the Hudson County Jail since his first arrest on January 18.
About a week earlier, the Hudson County Attorney’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force received information that child sexual abuse material had been created and shared on the social media platform Discord.
Authorities connected Suarez to the materials and found he had communicated with a 13-year-old boy out of state — directing the teen to post pictures and/or video of himself engaging in sexual activity with a 4-year-old girl, the prosecutor said to provide.
A search of Suarez’s home revealed more than 1,000 files containing child sexual abuse material.
Suarez has previously been accused of endangering a child’s welfare/promoting child sexual abuse material, endangering a child’s welfare/distributing child sexual abuse material and endangering a child’s welfare/possessing child sexual abuse material.
