Something New is Coming to the Old Leo’s Outpost in Lansing

Lansing’s dining scene has changed a lot in the last few years.

Whether it is due to Covid, supply chain shortages, hiring challenges or something else, unfortunately we have seen many restaurants closed for the last time. Places like American Bistro, Punk Taco, and Wings Over East Lansing are just a few examples.

Restaurants that opened or reopened in the Lansing area in 2022

Another example is Leo’s Outpost in southern Pennsylvania. Lansing City Pulse reported that Leo’s outpost closed its doors back in September 2021. Since then, Leo’s outpost has been empty, until now…

Congratulations to ReShane, Steven Lonzo and their family who just completed their purchase of the vintage Leo’s Outpost!

They are very excited about their new adventure of transforming the old Leo’s into The Comfort Zone Cigar Lounge & Bistro.

They have been working toward the purchase of Leo’s for the past 10 months and look forward to bringing a new experience to the Lansing area.

Yep…we are the FIRST and currently ONLY 100% black owned cigar lounge to hold AND own a cigar exemption license, spirits license, restaurant license AND lottery license anywhere within a 100 mile radius!

It sounds like people can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and indulge in food, drinks and cigars. And soon too! As they indicate, they will open in the spring of 2023.

Congratulations again! It’s amazing to see new local businesses opening up in Lansing.

A look back at the Lansing restaurants we lost in 2021

There’s plenty of great food in Lansing, but as a sign of the times, we’ve lost a few restaurants in 2021. Join us for a peek into the past as we explore some of Lansing’s now-closed restaurants.

Lansing Area bars and restaurants serving amazing mocktails

Whether you’re pregnant, sober, underage, or just someone not in the mood for alcohol right now, there’s gotta be something for us, right? That’s when I discovered the beauty of a mocktail. If for some reason you don’t drink alcohol, Lansing has some fantastic restaurants and bars that serve more than pop and soda. Check out these places that have amazing mocktails.

Fantastic late night restaurants in East Lansing

Whether you’ve been up late for work, study, or (to be honest) partying, you might be in need of some late night food. You’re in luck because East Lansing has a number of eateries that stay open until at least midnight, some even longer, so you can grab a bite to eat. Check out the list below.
