Jim Harbaugh to return to Michigan football in 2023

In case you missed it, Jim Harbaugh is making a return to Michigan football, according to University of Michigan President Santa J. Ono. This comes after another offseason game with the NFL, where Harbaugh spoke with the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.
Given that the NFL is king in this country, the Harbaugh news has been covered by both sides of the media, as well as several Wolverine personalities.
That said, here are the best reactions we could find to the news on Twitter, mostly from media types but also from some Michigan football staff and a handful of fans.

Jim Harbaugh has become to the NFL what Jon Gruden was to college football.

Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy
Of course Jim stays. This is not a secondary program. This isn’t Ohio. This is Michigan! Whoever stays becomes champion! #goblue https://t.co/TKqoklqnAb

John U. Bacon
Yes, Harbaugh called the UM press, not the AD. I’m sure the deal wouldn’t have happened without the AD, but it probably wouldn’t have happened without the President either.
And no, not a great look for the AD trainer relationship. Speaks for itself.— John U. Bacon (@Johnubacon) January 16, 2023
Dannie Rogers, Detroit Lions house reporter
I feel like I missed the President @SantaJOno while I was in Michigan! I love this energy from the school press 🤘🏻😤 https://t.co/S0hGd8qmO3

Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic
On the day of the early NFL contender’s deadline, Jim Harbaugh — long out of eligibility but still with coaching years ahead of him — announces via Twitter that he’s going back to school.

So the president says he has told the sporting director that his football coach is staying and the sporting director is not mentioned in the statement. I’m sure it’s ok. https://t.co/vLals4piQJ

The Athletic’s Chris Vannini
Does this mean Harbaugh didn’t get an NFL offer? I haven’t heard his name nearly as many times in the past week as NFL teams progress.
Either way, see you back here next year at the same time.

CFN’s Pete Fiutak

Detroit Free Press’ Tony Garcia
Well there you have it, Jim Harbaugh will remain Michigan’s head coach.
That Ono was the one who officially broke the news just goes to show how important he was in facilitating this whole process. https://t.co/ZOuhJwi20u

Zach Shaw from 247Sports
Michigan has not been a preseason top-three team since 1993.
With Jim Harbaugh, Blake Corum, JJ McCarthy, Donovan Edwards, 8 defensive starters and 33/44 two-deep players from a 13-1 team, the Wolverines should not only crack the top 3 but also make a case for the No. 1 to have .
