Dogs after dark

Bring your leashed pup to Dogs After Dark! It is a guided night hike at the Harris Nature Center in Okemos on Friday evening (2/3) from 7pm. The route is about 3 miles long and should easily help your dog burn off some energy!
Midwinter arts/crafts farmers market

Enjoy a Mid-Winter Art/Craft Farmers Market this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Alfreda Schmidt Southside Community Center Gym in Lansing. The event promises more than 60 local vendors with “a wide selection of Michigan-made foods, original artwork, home decor, jewelry, pottery, wood and metalwork, knitted/crocheted and sewn/quilted items, natural soaps, candles, herbal personal care products, stationery and more”!

Can’t wait for the weather to get warmer? You’re not alone. Put on your beachwear and head to Capitol Harley-Davidson in Dimondale on Saturday from 10am to 3pm for their Screw Winter Party! It’s a true winter luau with tropical drinks, a hula hoop contest and more.

Family day out at the MSU Broad Art Museum

This Saturday (April 2nd) is family day at the MSU Broad Art Museum. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., MSU’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum welcomes kids of all ages for hands-on fun and to explore their creative sides. The event is free, but pre-registration is required.
Terrarium bar to build yourself

Would you like to learn how to build the perfect terrarium? Van Atta’s greenhouse and flower shop in Haslett is hosting a build-it-yourself terrarium bar with seminars taking place both on Saturday (4/2) and Sunday (5/2) lunchtimes. Bring your own materials or buy some on site.

Midwest Expos is hosting the Lansing Reptile & Animal Extravaganza this Sunday (5/2) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Building on North Grand River Avenue in Lansing. Visit and maybe go home with chameleons, spiders, snakes, macaws, cockatoos, parrots, cockatiels and more. Supplies will also be available.
