Some look forward to Valentine’s Day. Others fear it. With February 14 fast approaching and just a few days left to plan, the Chronicle has put together a guide to help residents figure out their Valentine’s Day strategy, offering dining and gift ideas along with some other unconventional suggestions.

One of the most common Christmas gifts are roses, red roses to be precise. They’re not the only flower a loved one can receive on Valentine’s Day, but they’re the classic option. Here are three Lexington County florists who can provide you with the perfect gift:

Lamb’s Wildflowers in Pelion and Kelly and Co. Florist in Lexington have nice options for a classic dozen adorned with a vase for just $70.

Would you like to improve your game a little compared to previous years? Or do you want to impress a first-time Valentine? Sightler’s Florist in West Columbia is offering an 18-rose bouquet for $150 that includes a vase, red wax flowers, and variegated pittosporum.

Would you like to spoil your better half with flowers? Choose Three Oak Florists and Interiors in West Columbia. This florist offers an “Explosion of Red” with 50 red roses, a vase, lots of greenery, and some decorative vegetation for $345.95.

Other options include Pineview Florist, Jarrett’s Jungle in West Columbia, American Floral in Chapin and Irmo, Tim’s Touch in Lexington, and Worthy’s Florist in Batesburg-Leesville.

Another option is Alodia’s Cucina Italiana, a popular county favorite with locations in Lexington and Irmo. The Italian restaurant uses recipes from the family’s own cookbook and offers traditional flavors that have been enjoyed for more than 15 years. Appetizers average $26.

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, Terra in West Columbia might be for you. Since 2006, the self-proclaimed “neighborhood bistro” does what he can to support local farmers by using as many locally grown ingredients as possible. Entrees there average $37.
