The Post Rock Community Foundation (PRCF) could earn extra dollars for community charitable grants through a nationwide Match Month gift-matching campaign.
For the past five years, the PRCF has hosted Match Month, benefiting from a matching grant initiative from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in Logan, Kansas with a mission to “reverse population decline, to Increase Economic Opportunities and Strengthen Important Municipal Services” in its 26-county service area.
After a successful match month in February 2022, the PRCF is pleased to once again benefit from the generous grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and to continue its work in support of key institutions in the USD #298 and #299 footprint.
The Sylvan Grove Fair and Agriculture Association is just one of dozens of nonprofits in the area receiving funding from the PRCF, most recently to replace the deteriorating grandstands at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Sylvan Grove.
“This project has improved the seating so the community can enjoy the many events that take place at the fairgrounds throughout the year,” said Ben Kratky, Fair Association board member. “The new grandstands not only provided more seating, but also provided a safer environment for community members. The grants from the Post Rock Community Foundation have helped make a tremendous improvement to the fairgrounds and the show management is grateful for their support.”
During February game month, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation will match all public donations up to $50,000 to the Post Rock Community Foundation’s Post Rock Community Action Fund. The Post Rock Community Action Fund is an unrestricted community grant fund that supports projects and programs focused on improving the quality of life in the Post Rock area. New this year, the Hansen Foundation will also raise the additional match – up to $45,000 for permanent equipment and up to $5,000 for immediate administrative needs. That means community foundations that raise the full $50,000 to the permanent grant fund receive a 200 percent grant!
