Panthers’ Gomez finishes runner-up at Topeka

Panthers compete in Topeka Wrestling

TOPEKA – Great Bend Panther Daizy Gomez (125) came second in the Topeka Washburn Girls Wrestling Tournament. Washburn’s Addison Broxterman defeated Gomez 6-1 in the championship game. Broxterman earned her 119th career pin to pass Great Bend’s three-time state champion Breanna Ridgeway and her 127th career win.

Other Panthers who placed were Kirra Stevens (155) in fifth place; sixth place Haylee Holinde (235); sixth-place Kaylea McMullen (120); seventh Karley Stukey (105);

Eighth-placed Danica Cline (145); Eighth place Natalee Daniels (190) and 15th place Lea Nokes (170)
