North Okanagan curler claims athlete of the year award

Spallumcheen’s own Ina Forrest topped the list as one of the best athletes in all of BC

The Wheelchair Curler was recognized as a Disabled Athlete at Sport BC’s 55th Annual Athlete of the Year.

Elsewhere in the Okanagan, the award for high school male athlete of the year goes to Kelowna volleyball star Walker Sodaro.

Each is one of five award winners in their category, which will be celebrated in Vancouver on March 9th.

“The Athlete of the Year award is a true celebration of sport in our province. Finalists will be honored at the event and represent exceptional effort and achievement in 2021 and 2022. Congratulations to our finalists and the organizations they represent,” said Rob Newman, President and CEO of Sport BC. “The finalists represent 29 sports from communities across BC and demonstrate the collective strength of our province’s sports sector.”
