South Florida Hooters Partnering with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida for Cookie Sales

For the third year in a row, six Hooters locations are partnering with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida to support their annual fundraising efforts. The Girl Scouts will have cookie booths at Boca Raton, Cypress Creek, Fort Lauderdale Beach Place, Pembroke Pines, Sunrise and Weston Hooters locations to support their goal of providing 75,000 boxes of cookies for our brave military. Hooters is matching every case (up to $15,000) sold by the Girl Scouts at each of their South Florida Hooters restaurant locations from Friday, February 3rd at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m Watch.

The proceeds from the sale of cookies remain local. The additional boxes purchased by Hooters will be donated to the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida’s Cookies for the Military program. In 2022, South Florida Hooters donated $15,000 to the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida.

“We look forward to hosting the next generation of young female entrepreneurs for the third year in a row. We are proud to partner with the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida and have their cookie stands in our restaurants and help them reach more people in our community. We want to provide cookies for the military to give them a touch of home, to show we care,” said LTP Marketing Director Kristi Quarles.

Quarles, an eight-year veteran of the Girl Scouts, has firsthand experience of the importance and skills he learned at the Girl Scouts’ annual fundraising efforts, and a few weeks ago attended the Girl Scouts of Southeast’s Smart Cookie workshop Florida participated to give the next generation of young female entrepreneurs tips on selling Girl Scout Cookies. Joining Quarles at the workshop were Hooters employees who were with the Girl Scouts as children, including Ansley Santos (Boca Raton), Heather Widle (Weston), and Taylor Zalich (Naples).

“Being a Girl Scout has rounded me out and helped shape me into the woman I am today. As a Girl Scout, I learned sisters and life skills that I will never forget. I am now very proud that Hooters is partnering with Girl Scouts by bringing together cookies sold for the military and allowing the girls to sell cookies in front of our Hooters locations in South Florida. We have also recently attended events including the Smart Cookie Workshop. It’s very uplifting and motivating because Girl Scouts is about women empowering other women and showing girls that they can do anything and be anything. After attending these events with the Girl Scouts, I’m seriously considering having my own troupe in the future,” said Weston Hooters Girl Heather Widle.

“I was a Girl Scout for almost four years in grades 1-4. Being a Girl Scout has been so formative, adventurous and most importantly empowering for me. It showed me how to be true to myself, make the most of every moment and support other women. I’m still talking to a few girls in my squad today. Fast forward to now; To have this opportunity as a Hooters Girl to help the girls of Southeast Florida embody the Girl Scout spirit is very sentimental to me. I can’t wait for the girls to come and sell cookies at the Hooters of Boca Raton, you can find me if I buy at least 10 boxes,” said Boca Raton Hooters Girl Ansley Santos.
