Hartford Union High School Rotary students of the month for January 2023

Hartford, WI – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce that Isabelle Navarre and Adam Weyer were recently recognized as Rotary Student of the Month.

Students received special recognition for their achievements at the Hartford Rotary Club meetings on Thursday afternoons in January.

Isabelle Navarre is the daughter of Jamie and Joseph Navarra. Navarre is a member of the National Honor Society, the H-Club, the Student Council (Grades 9-11) and the Math Team at HUHS. She has played association soccer with Hartford United Soccer Club since 4th grade. Navarre has earned varsity letters in girls tennis and girls soccer. Navarre is also a member of the HUHS VBC Choir and this year her choir will be taking a spring break trip to New York with the Concert Choir. She has also acted in three musicals at HUHS; Shrek, The Adams Family and Legally Blonde in various ensemble parts.

Navarre volunteers at the Hartford Aurora Clinic once a week and helps out with whatever tasks need to be done. Through the H-Club, she has worked on concessions, helping out with the Shamrock Shuffle, Operation Christmas Child, Enchantment in the Park, the Lincoln School Fun Run and the Special Olympics Swim. Navarre has also worked for the United Methodist Church at HUHS summer soccer camps and Vacation Bible School.

After high school, Navarra plans to earn a bachelor of science degree in biology and a medical degree from UW-LaCrosse.

Adam Weyer is the son of Lanae and Tony Weyer. Weyer has been a member of the boys’ cross country team, boys’ track and field team, and student council for four years. He was the captain of the cross-country team for two years. The cross-country team won conference and sectionals for two years and finished 8th at the WIAA Cross Country State Championships. Weyer also qualified for the WIAA Track State Championships in the 1600 meter dash and twice in the 3200 meter relay. Hartford’s 3200 relay team won the 2022 state championship.

Weyer was elected to the 2021 WCCCA Academic All-State Team Cross Country and the 2022 North Shore Conference 1st Team All-Conference Cross Country. He was also named the Northeastern Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association’s award-winning journalist in 5 categories. On the Student Council, Weyer was a board member and secretary and is currently the organization’s president.

Weyer is a Bronze Eagle Scout with golf palms and served for many years leading Troop 139 at Hubertus. He also serves as a youth chaplain at St. Gabriel’s Parish and teaches middle school students.

After graduating from HUHS, Weyer plans to go to UW-LaCrosse to study finance, minor in accounting, and run cross country and track. Eventually, he would like to study at UW-Madison to earn a master’s degree in corporate finance and investment banking.
