Gusty Winds Return To Murrieta Following Rainstorm

MURRIETA, CA — Monday’s showers and patchy fog would be replaced by gusty winds starting Tuesday, according to forecasters for the National Weather Service.

Strong winds were forecast for Riverside County at the beginning of the week. On Monday, between a half and an inch of rain will be accompanied by cool weather on Monday, with Temecula at 52 degrees, Hemet at 53, Downtown Riverside at 54, Palm Springs at 55 and Coachella Valley at 57 during the day. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 35 degrees in Hemet, 36 in Temecula, 40 in downtown Riverside, and 42 in Coachella Valley and Palm Springs.

Winds of 15 to 20mph were expected on Tuesday with some gusts of up to 30mph.

“Gusty winds could sweep around unsecured objects. Tree branches could be blown over and there could be some power outages,” the weather service said. “Take extra care when driving, especially when driving a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”

Skies will be mostly sunny across the county for the remainder of the week, with temperatures warming up towards the end of the week, reaching the 70s mark. At night, temperatures range from the mid 30s to the low 40s across the county.
