OSU’s Alnatas, TTU’s Scott & Shavers Tabbed For Big 12 WBB Weekly Honors

Oklahoma State’s Naomie Alnatas (assistant), along with Texas Tech’s Bre’Amber Scott (assistant) and Jasmine Shavers (rookie) have been selected for the games, which begin on March 15.
Alnatas led Oklahoma State to two wins, including a loss to then-No. 18 Baylor for the Cowgirls’ first win in Waco since 2008. Against the Bears, Alnatas had 17 points with four rebounds and an assist in the 70-65 win, inclusive a dagger 3-pointer with 54 seconds remaining to field the cowgirls four. In Oklahoma State’s 80-70 win over TCU, Alnatas was 24 points behind on 8-of-17 shots, plus five rebounds and two assists. The Cayenne, French Guiana native of America averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists to earn her first weekly Big 12 honors.
Bre’Amber Scott has now recorded four straight games over 20 points after a week in which she averaged a Power 5 best of 30.0 points per game, plus 7.5 rebounds and 68.0 percent from the field lap. Against No. 19 Oklahoma, she came off the bench and scored 23 points from an 8-of-11 shooting. The Little Rock, Arkansas native had 37 points in the 85-65 win at Kansas State, the highest total for a Big 12 player this season. She added 11 rebounds and two assists in the game and needed just 14 field goal attempts to get her 37 points as she added a 17-of-19 performance at the free-throw line. It’s Scott’s first weekly Big 12 honors.
Shavers scored two goals in double digits averaging 19.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from the field. In the game against the Sooners, she had 12 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of play. The Mesquite, Texas native posted a career-high 26 points against K-State and went from the field on 10-of-16 to help the Lady Raiders win. It’s the third freshman of the week for Shavers this season and the fifth for a Texas Tech freshman.
