Sullivan Honored to Announce 2023 Military Service Academy Nominations

01/31/23
WASHINGTON– US Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) today announced the names of 32 young Alaskans he has nominated for US military service academies. Senator Sullivan made his selection with the help of an Academy Review Board composed of eleven members from across Alaska, many of whom are Service Academy graduates. The Board reviewed the applications, interviewed each of the applicants, and made recommendations to the Senator.
“A highlight of my work is nominating young Alaskans to our nation’s prestigious military service academies. Applicants to the Academy demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to service to their community and country.” said Senator Sullivan. “I want to give special credit to these students for finding ways to serve their communities and excelling through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in science and sports. I would also like to thank the dedicated members of the Audit Committee for volunteering countless hours of their own time to strengthen this process. We hope to receive more applications next year. I encourage all young Alaskans to look into the incredible opportunities these world-class institutions offer.”
The members of the Alaska Congressional delegation work closely together to maximize opportunities for Alaskan men and women to receive nominations for the academies. The nominations enable the applicants to apply for appointments to the academies. Dates are offered individually by the academies.
